Yes. You're right. Rust's strong type system and traits are extremely favorable over everything else. But when planning systems, we would also include a lot of factors like time, resources, training, and project requirements.

if it's the next BigQuery, Redshift, S3 or Dropbox, there is no doubt, i would chose rust. But if it's a simple api that needs to scale, i would still question some of the things. Totally depends on the scenario IMO. There's no single answer to this honestly.

I would also look at other languages with strong typing if maintainability is an important factor as well. To evaluate comprehensively.
