Our muscles will always be our best friend — Knee Surgery Confessions

Today was my first run after knee surgery around 5 months back. It was one of those feelings I couldn’t describe. I ran less than a mile, but there was this joy that made me write about this. Although I’m not a seasonal runner, I love running more than any other activity. I share my experience with a knee injury recently, and how recovering from a knee surgery changed my perspective about fitness, workout, and strength training.

In December of last year, i got to know that i injured my knee — causing a full tear to my ACL. For those who might be wondering what an ACL Its one of those ligaments ( tissues ) within our bodies, which provides the knee with the flexibility and agility during sports activities. It connects the upper and lower leg and runs like a strand of muscle. It is also one of the crucial structures that keep your knee in place providing you with a lot of movement functions. Enough about ACL. So, i got to know that I may have injured my ACL while running, and tripping multiple times in the past. It was an injury that was hidden and could only be seen in an MRI.
